  1. You can look chic on a “bad hair day”

Sometimes It seems like I have more bad hair days than good. But I love accessories so much that I often have on a scarf, wrap, headband or turban. Adding the accessory not only covers ill shaped or flat hair, it says “I cared today”. And that’s what would make my mom proud. 😁

2. Use them to show your personality!

My hair accessories have always screamed “Bohemian Glam”, a term my bff uses to describe my sometimes interesting fashion preferences. I would take beautiful bold colors and wrap my head and pair with fun earrings, or a flowing dress. Anything to make me feel and express FREEDOM. Coincidentally, I also spent years in salons and schools that required all black dress code, so I would use my hair accessories to express my vibe for the day.

College days….chandelier earrings and headwear were my jam. 🙈

3. They save you from putting heat in your hair everyday!

OMG! I couldn’t count how many times I’ve covered my extra curly roots and edges with a headband.

4. Nostalgia

Headbands remind of my youth in the 90s & my coming of age in the 2000s. No matter how embellished, avant-garde, or basic....headbands remind me of my pre-Amazon, pre-online shopping days; strolling beauty supply isles for the best most interesting accessories.

This was one of my fav headbands….purple with feathers!!! My gorgeous sisters and I with the unplanned coordination. ☺️

5. They save you time.

“Get Ready With Me”…

  • Wake up.

  • Read inspiration & scriptures.

  • Scroll the internet of everything I can think of.

  • Scroll Instagram.

  • Check the time.

  •  “I have plenty of time”.

  • Do anything but get ready.

  • Check time again.

  • “Oh shoot, I have to be out of the house in 20!”

  • Jump frantically into action; shower, clothes, sunscreen. in that order.

  • Look in the mirror horrified by what’s going on with my hair.

  • Grab fav turban headband that somehow matches everything I own (it does, idc what you say lol).

  • Look in the mirror and smile knowing It worked again.

  • Run to my car praying the GPS estimated time of arrival is only a suggestion.
