BaByliss Ferrari Edition Curling Wand review
-Ciara Latrice
I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a BaByliss styling tool for years! I was fortunate to find this Ferrari edition curling wand at my local Ross during the holidays. You can purchase one from Ulta Beauty online. I’ve never personally used one before, but I became a believer after a master hair stylist used one to enhance my natural curls for a summer wedding. I hope my tips help you achieve gorgeous curls for your post quarantine debut.

Bantu knots post cleansing.
The packaging is very chic and luxurious. It seems like the beauty salons always have the BEST styling tools! Either that, or a combination of great products along with their skill. Unfortunately, I have not stepped foot inside a salon in over a year, so it was great to open a new goodie and treat myself to some pampering. Before I began styling my hair, I washed and conditioned; you always want to start on clean hair especially when using heat. I let my hair air dry, then pretreated with Liquid Goals nourishing oil as a leave in conditioner. I put my hair in Bantu knots thencovered it with my Silk Turban. {I love sleeping in my silk turban, because it locks in moisture all night}.

The next morning, I took my Bantu knots down and used my curling wand all over. It took me about 15-20mins and I was not impressed with the results. I looked like Mother Ethel from church doing skirt length checks. Meh. I realized that I was looking for a different type of curl but this wand is a little thicker & doesn’t have the pointed tip that would have achieved what I was aiming for.

Mother Ethel and her Easter curls 🙄
I separated the curls and ran my fingers through my hair.Separate, fluff, repeat. Still, giving me Ethel vibes. The curls were not budging, so I placed my hair in a top knot bun for a few hours. Took it down, fluffed and shook my curls free. That led to these results:

Nice, soft curls with a whole lot of body and volume. I did not have to use any hair spray either. The moral of the story is to make sure you purchase the correct size curling wand and style on clean hair. If you happen to end up with large Shirley Temple curls like I initially did, you can always fluff-shake-repeat! Happy styling <3
