The Holy Grail of DIY Hairstyles in a Pinch!!!
Share
Ok, this summer heat didn’t get the memo that we were in the middle of a global pandemic. And there still so many salons that are still closed! What is a girl to do?
During this time, it is more important than ever that every woman has a go to hair style that will take them from the sofa to a work video conference and then a Zoom date. Even if that date is just with friends and family. We don’t have to look like what we are actually doing.
So, here are my Holy Grail tips that never fail when I need to go from ugh to OKAAAYYY!
1. The never fail, always chic ponytail/ bun

It doesn’t matter if your hair is straight, curly, or in between. A sleek ponytail or bun works on every texture and face shape. While you’re at home take some time to perfect a flawless ponytail style. Figure our what looks best on you. Should you slick it straight back?, add a middle part or a side part? This is the time to test it out. Find the perfect products to lay it down and slay those baby hairs, you can’t forget about the baby hairs! If your hair isn’t quite long enough to give some swing to that ponytail or give a full bun, don’t be afraid to add a little extra length with extensions. Which brings us to Holy Grail number two.
2. Girlfriends, ponytails, and clip ins!

Every girl needs a girlfriend. I don’t mean your BFF, although having one that does hair is a bonus, shoutout to Shay! 😉 Anyway, I’m talking about that “go to” hair piece that will have you looking like you been planning this hairdo for weeks when you actually only had 30 minutes. Ladies: invest a ponytail, clip-ins, half wig, u-part wig, lace front, etc…whatever will get the job done. We all need a girlfriend that will step in and hold us down (literally)when we need it. You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars, but if you’ve got it splurge girl, that hair will last for years. Whatever you choose, you will be thankful your girlfriend was available for that last-minute invite.
3. Headbands, hats and turbans, oh my!
I mean, who doesn’t have a headband in their disaster relief kit. Well maybe not in that kit, but you have at least one of these under your bathroom sink or hiding in your closet, right? Well if you don’t this is a great time to find the perfect hair accessory for your bad hair day. My go to turban has gotten me through some rough times and she is just as faithful as a good girlfriend. I’ve even been excited to update my headband collection from The Beauty Compound!
